Product Description

Compounded Worm Gear Oil L-CKE Copper-Safe for Elevator Gearbox

Sinopec Great Wall L-CKE Compounded Worm Gear Oil

Compounded Worm Gear Oil for Elevator Traction Gearboxes and Enclosed Worm Drives

✔ Copper Corrosion 1b   ✔ No Rust (Sea Water B)   ✔ AGMA 9005-E02 Compounded   ✔ ISO 12925-1 (L-CKE)

Sinopec Great Wall L-CKE is a compounded gear oil blended from high quality high viscosity index mineral base oils with a balanced package of premium additives. Specially formulated for worm reduction drives and gear transmission equipment, the oil meets the lubrication demands of sliding friction contact and helps improve transmission efficiency.

The oiliness additive formulation is designed exclusively for worm gear drives, where high sliding friction occurs between the steel worm and the bronze worm wheel. By building a durable lubricating film on metal surfaces, it reduces wear of the worm pair and keeps the drive running smoothly. Excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear properties further protect the gear set under shock and heavy load conditions.

The formulation offers good oxidation stability that minimizes harm to steel, copper and seal materials, while the balanced additive package provides reliable rust and corrosion protection for non-ferrous metal components. In standard tests the product achieves class 1b in the copper corrosion test (100°C, 3h) and shows no rust in the liquid phase rust test (synthetic sea water, method B), confirming safe operation with bronze worm wheels and yellow metal parts.

Meeting the requirements of SH/T 0094-91, ISO 12925-1 (L-CKE) and AGMA 9005-E02 Compounded, it is manufactured by Sinopec Great Wall, one of the world's largest petroleum and petrochemical companies, under a strict quality management system. It is widely used for enclosed worm drives in metallurgy, construction and general machinery, including traction gearboxes of passenger and freight elevators.

All L-CKE grades are manufactured in ISO-certified facilities with strict quality control from base oil selection through finished batch testing. Every delivery can be accompanied by a certificate of analysis, and our technical team supports customers with oil analysis programs, change interval planning and application guidance for worm drive equipment of any scale.

Key Advantages

Specialized Compounded Formulation
Oiliness additive system designed for worm gear sliding friction, improving transmission efficiency and protecting the worm gear pair.
Copper-Safe Protection
Class 1b corrosion results confirm outstanding compatibility with bronze worm wheels and non-ferrous metal components.
Extreme Pressure and Anti-Wear
Good extreme pressure and anti-wear performance reduces worm gear pair wear under heavy and shock loads.
Oxidation Stability
Reduces harmful effects on steel, copper and seal materials for longer oil and equipment life.
Rust and Corrosion Prevention
No rust in synthetic sea water test; balanced additives protect non-ferrous metals from corrosion.
High Flash Point

Recommended Applications

  • Traction gearboxes of passenger and freight elevators
  • Enclosed worm gear drives in metallurgy, construction and general machinery
  • Worm reduction gearboxes requiring compounded oil per AGMA 9005-E02 Compounded or L-CKE
  • Gear transmission equipment operating with sliding friction contact
  • Applications where bronze worm wheels and non-ferrous components need copper-safe lubrication

Product Q&A

Q: What is a compounded worm gear oil?
A: Compounded worm gear oils contain oiliness additives that form a durable film under sliding friction, which is the dominant contact mode in worm gear drives. This product is formulated specifically for sliding friction lubrication to improve efficiency and reduce wear.

Q: Why is copper corrosion important for worm gear oil?
A: Worm gear sets typically use a bronze worm wheel running against a steel worm. An oil that attacks copper alloys would damage the wheel. This product achieves class 1b in the copper corrosion test, confirming safe, reliable lubrication of bronze components.

Q: Which viscosity grade should I choose?
A: The L-CKE series is available in ISO VG 320, 460 and 680. Selection depends on worm gearbox size, load and speed; contact us for a recommendation.

Q: Can this oil be used in elevator traction gearboxes?
A: Yes. It is suitable for traction gearboxes of passenger and freight elevators, as well as other enclosed worm drives in industrial machinery.

Q: What packaging options are available?
A: We supply 200L steel drums, 1000L IBC totes and bulk delivery with export-grade packaging. Contact us for detailed specifications and a quotation.
